Grab the kids and head for the Huntsville Botanical Garden. Not only are the butterflies flitting about, but there are eight creative treehouses positioned throughout the Garden for everyone to climb on, explore and try-out. Now through October 31st, you can be a kid again, if you dare, and inspect these little masterpieces.
The Pine Cone Zone This treehouse (pictured second from left, top row) was designed by Jim Hartsell, Kathleen Maker, Tracy Brookman and other employees of J. H. Partners Architecture & Interiors. It is built around....a pine tree! Its design was inspired by the symmetry of Zen temples of Asian architecture.
The treehouse incorporates a platform, benches and a child's ball pit to provide both a relaxing and fun place for both parents and children visiting the Garden. The structure also takes advantage of the peacefulness of its quiet and shady location and inspires a sense of harmony with nature.
