Actors are always warned not to appear onstage with animals and children.  And, sure enough, the eighteen orphans and two dogs in Annie steal this show produced by the Madison Community Chorus and appearing at Bob Jones High School Auditorium.

Harper Neidermeyer leads the cast as Annie.  Harper's singing voice is supports this demanding role where she appears in every scene but two.  Madison Shaw as Molly, the youngest orphan, steals several scene and is a great asset to the cast.  Other major roles for orphans include Kaitlyn O'Hara as Pepper, Sierra Riggs as Duffy, Abby Slyman as July, and Emily Edwards as Tessie.

Some of the other orphans were portrayed by Claire Berger, Katie Cauthen, Layne Johnson, Mallory Kobler, Molly Lynn, Kelsey McKee, Kaley Moseley, Caitlin Parrish, Katherine Pugh, Rava Raab, and Courtney Stough.  The choreography for the orphans is outstanding.  They look like they are having fun and invite the audience to join in.  Some of the adults' dance numbers aren't too shabby either!

This post-September 11th look at New York City is comforting when the only problems in 1930's New York were the Great Depression and finding Little Orphan Annie a home.  The casts' rendition of "NYC" is sure to evoke different emotions than it did in a more innocent time.
