Old Huntsville Photo Album in CD ROM
After a successful first CD photo album of Huntsville, Tom Carney, editor of Old
Huntsville magazine, has
just
released a second volume. Whether you are new to Huntsville or grew
up and never left, you will enjoy seeing a young struggling town as it grows and
matures. The over 300 photos reflect the unique historical experience of
the early days of Huntsville. This photo album includes scenes
from Civil War, the cotton mills, private funerals, early businesses,
riverboats, parades, Monte Sano's early days, aerial views of the city and many
other unique and rare photos of Huntsville.
Tom Carney, the unofficial historian of Huntsville's past and storyteller of its colorful citizens, has spent over ten years collecting memorabilia, photographs, and facts about Huntsville.
This
new CD has a little different layout than the first one. Some of the
photos are full page size and some are partial pages. All the photos have
captions describing the people, places and events. Some of these photos
have never been seen before.
Huntsville is lucky to have someone who has taken the time to collect these photos and present them in such an affordable and accessible way that everyone can enjoy them. The Old Huntsville Photo Album Volume 2 is available from all the area bookstores or from Old Huntsville magazine. If you're a resident of Huntsville, or ever have called Huntsville your home, then you will probably want to buy one to put next to your other family pictures.
