The Huntsville Botanical Gardens has been overtaken by butterflies.

Over 30 species of North American butterflies are taking up residence in the Butterfly House.  From May to September, you can enjoy these lively creatures at the Gardens.

The Gardens have also become home to giant butterflies, created by local artists and sponsored by local patrons of the Gardens.  As you stroll the grounds, these sculptured butterflies are seen posed among the flowers and shrubs.  This is the second year for these 4 1/2 foot and 8 foot butterflies.

Artists who created the butterflies include Ed Starnes, Mary Jones, Mary Champion, Research Genetics--Rob Seitz, Danielle Damson, Jean Wood, Susan Goodman, Mike Keeney, Barbara Chisler, Kay Matthews, Dennis Lujan, Cynthia Parsons, Diane Stickland, Melody Stevens, Rosemary Little, Linda Mortaon, Nikki Russell, Denise Rady, Harriet Dobbins, Tracy Nagashima, Linda Steed, Pug Garber, Virginia Keilx, Ann Hamilton, and Mark Accomando.
