Pack a picnic lunch, bring a lawn chair, sit in the great outdoors. Doesn't sound like Shakespeare, does it? It's not often that you're allowed to eat while watching theatre...but that's exactly what Theatre Huntsville wants you to do as they introduce you to Shakespeare in the amphitheatre at Monte Sano State Park.

Saturday, June 16 Theatre Huntsville opens their third season of "Shakespeare on the Mountain." I took in a recent rehearsal and have a few pictures to share with you. As you'll notice, the company is trying to help us Shakespeare-illiterates understand, enjoy and share the love they have for The Bard. In fact, they say that "Shakespeare on the Mountain" could be subtitled, "Short Attention Span Theatre." Short, amusing scenes are interspersed with even shorter scenes from a variety of well-known (or at least plays you've heard of) Shakespearean plays.

The cast and crew of "Shakespeare on the Mountain" breathe life into these classic scenes from Shakespeare.
