Art is alive and well in Huntsville! Local galleries and the Huntsville Museum of Art band together once a year to give residents a peek into the world of art, painting, sculpture, jewelry, glass and wood.

This free event includes hors d'oeuvres at all galleries with a variety of work and artists featured. The 2001 tour includes these galleries and artists:

Signature Gallery, located at 2364 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville, 256-536-1960. Featured artists in attendance will be Arch Pike and Karen Rouse Pierce. Pike is known for his smoke-fired pottery. Pierce will be featuring a new series of painting of acrylic on wood. At Signature Gallery, you will find an extensive collection of functional pottery, fine art glass, wood, and contemporary and traditional jewelry. Works from more than 250 artisans across the United States are featured, including 16 new artists. Works from noted lighting artist Janna Ugone is also on display.

Huntsville Art League Gallery and Visual Art Center, Market Square, 721 Clinton Avenue, Suite 2 (next to Burlington Coat Factory), 256-534-3860. HAL Gallery is operated by the Huntsville Art League, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting awareness and understanding of the visual arts. The gallery features the work of local and regional artists. The Gallery Tour will feature oils by Dorothy Montgomery, watercolors by Patricia Eldridge, pottery by Conrad Lippert, fiber by Celia Dionne and photography by Marie Ulrich.
