The Huntsville Community Chorus Production of "Fame--The Musical" is bursting with fun, energy and talent. I previewed the show a week before it's opening on August 1st. A lot of shows aren't "ready" until Opening Night--but this show is a rare exception and is already in good shape, brimming with enthusiasm and electricity. This seems a fitting time for this particular production. A lot of talent shows are on TV now; shows like "American Idol," "Star Search" and, of course, "Fame" are highlighting talented young people around the U.S. It's time that Huntsville came out to the theatre to see what we have in our own neighborhoods! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and amazed at the gifted actors, dancers, singers and musicians in this show. Director Dr. Susan Brown, theater professor at Alabama A&M University, has done an excellent job of casting this musical. Assisting her are B. Dwayne Craft, drama teacher at Bob Jones High School; Music Director, Bill Lloyd; Choreographer, Nancy Keyser-Shade with Asst. Choreographer, Jessica Alexander and Technical Directors Mark Eccleston and Lynn Broad. Costume Director is Gay Broad. The choreography and music in this production is outstanding.
