Summer 2005 Huntsville Art Museums Tour

Seven Galleries Open to the Public

The Huntsville Museum of Art is pleased to partner with local arts organizations for the Summer Gallery Tour. Several galleries will be on the tour, which is scheduled for 5-9 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2005. Attendees will have the chance to purchase unique works of art by locally, regionally, and nationally acclaimed artists.

Galleries participating in the Tour include Artistic Images Gallery, Clay House, 5 Points Gallery, Huntsville Art League and Visual Art Center, Huntsville Museum of Art, Meridian Arts Gallery, and Signature Gallery. Each location will offer a unique collection of merchandise and give away a door prize.

Artistic Images Gallery

Sheep Jones presents large vivid botanicals and landscapes. Ms. Jones is an artist at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Va. where she conducts classes and has her studio. Also being featured is clay artist Lori Watts from Mississippi. The gallery also represents more than 30 artists from across the Southeast. Door prize is a $50 gift certificate to be used for framing.

Clay House

Clay House Museum is a non-profit organization established for the purpose of promoting and supporting cultural events in the City of Madison. The Museum is geared to support local artists and offers free meeting space to other non-profit organizations. Clay House Museum features a different local artist every month with an exhibit and a Meet the Artist Reception. July's featured artist is Denise Schiber. Door prize is a gift certificate for Afternoon Tea for six.

5 Points Gallery

5 Points Gallery is proud to feature 2005 Panoply Artist S. Renee Prasil. Creating works of art in all mediums is her life-long passion. In her words, " I am visually oriented: I feel in color." The Gallery also offers a wide array of oils, acrylic, and watercolors, photography, pottery, sculpture, jewelry, and unique gifts by several other outstanding local artists. They specialize in custom and hand-made frames. 5 Points Gallery is located at the corner of Pratt Ave. and White St. Door Prize is a free print of winner's choice.

The Heritage Club

End the evening on a high note: at The Heritage Club. Enjoy a variety of signature desserts from 9-11 p.m. while viewing a fine selection of work by regional artists.

Huntsville Art League

The Huntsville Art League (HAL) is a non-profit organization founded in 1957 to cultivate local artists and friends of the arts through education, exhibits, and community outreach. More than 60 local artists display their artwork, pottery, and jewelry at HAL. Art classes for children and adults are taught all year long. Door prize is a family membership.

The Huntsville Museum of Art Store offers a wide selection of gifts, books, candles, jewelry, and educational toys for children. Meridian Arts-Gallery

See works by our new artists: vivid floral watercolors by Anita Hoodless; bold, abstracts by watercolorist Lorri Y. Kelly; remarkable bronze sculptures by Barry Woods Johnston; and unique concrete sculpture by Kem Alexander. The door prize is a $50 gift certificate.

Tour the studios of artists Dan Burch and Dana Brown and potter Arch Pike. The Gallery will have new works from our award winning regional artists. The door prize is a $50 gift certificate.

Signature Gallery

Signature Gallery will be featuring the quilts of Karen Fortenbery. In addition, Signature features an extensive collection of functional pottery, fine art glass, wood, and contemporary and traditional jewelry, representing more than 250 artists from across the United States. Door prize is a $50 gift certificate.
