Cornfield Mazes are the rage all across America. The Brownsboro Cornfield Maize is the biggest one near Huntsville with over 14 acres and many special activities and events for the whole family.

What is the Brownsboro Cornfield Maze?

The Brownsboro Cornfield Maze is 14 acres of corn planted and the new mind-boggling design that celebrates Space Camp's 25th Anniversary. The Summerlin/Blakely families are bringing the "MAZE craze" back to Alabama for the 7th year. The popular Huntsville labyrinth, that drew thousands of visitors last fall, will once again get curious maze-goers lost. The Brownsboro Maze is open to the public September 6, 2008 and closes November 9, 2008.

    Where is the Brownsboro Maze?

    Here's directions to the Brownsboro Maze:

    From Huntsville take I-565 E until it turns into Highway 72 E (towards Scottsboro). Between the 107 and 108 mile marker on US Hwy 72 E turn left onto Brownsboro Road. (This is just past the BP Station and Jim Johnson Motor Sales.) The Brownsboro Maze is immediatly on the left.

    Special Events in 2007 included:
  • 2nd Annual BlueGrass Festival -- Saturday Sept. 8th 1-9PM $15.00 Per Person 12 and up. Kids 11 and younger $10.00. Kids 5 and under, Free w/Adult.
  • Music On the Maize Stage -- Fri/Sat nights in Oct, including Sept 28th and 29th, 1st weekend for haunting maze
  • Trick-Or-Treat -- Oct 28 Sunday Night - 3 pm-6 pm. Come see Barney, Tiger, Clifford and all your friends in the 1st 1/2 of the maze for a great Halloween Adventure & Trick Or Treat Fun
  • Hay Rides - 2 tickets per ride. Or included in Admission activities. Children 5 and under FREE when supervised by a paying adult.
  • Corn-Cob Launcher -- 1 ticket for 1 shot, 2 tickets for 3. Or included in Admission Activities.. upwards of 75 Yards (Hitting the target enters you in a drawing for a free 1 hr introduction to flying at MoonTown airport)
  • Cow Train - Sept 15/16th -- take a ride thru the maze itself. 2 tickets, or included in Admission Activities
  • Pumpkin Painting -- Small pumpkin 2 tickets, Large pumpkin 5 tickets.
  • Kiddie CourtYard -- Brave the VORTEX, "Cotton Patch 500", Hay Jump, Inflatable Moon-Walk, Duck Races, Goat Walk, Calf roping, Picnic tables, Pumpkin painting in the Pumpkin barn.

    Are There Any More Mazes in the Huntsville Area?

    For a "kiddie" maze, you can find two mazes in the Huntsville Botanical Garden (one in the Children's Garden and Nature Center and a bigger one on the edge of the Garden near the big dogwood tree. Tate Pumpkin Farm also has a smaller cornfield maze and a maze made out of bales of hay.
