Family Fright Night: “The Spirits of the Historic Lowry House” is a new exciting “family friendly” event for kids and adults of all ages. This event was created especially for families. You won't find all the blood and gore here, just a few thrills and chills. Huntsville has its share of adult and teen events, but kids love Halloween more than anyone which led Lowry House to develop a “haunted house” type event for the younger crowd. One of their very own local 3rd grade teachers developed and wrote the main event: a mini funeral play where a real coffin is displayed (don't worry, no open casket!). The live funeral, complete with “friends of the deceased”, and “the dead man, ie. ghost”, will be acted out in the parlor.

Do your kids love the ghost hunter television show? If so, this event is definitely for you. there are two rooms where Huntsville's own ghosts come to life! Join us for a thrilling journey into the distant past to learn of the true spirits of The Historic Lowry House, and other local legends...if you dare! None other than Miss Elizabeth Lowry, dressed in her 1800's attire will warmly greet you, complete in her 1800's dress! Then...AMAZE and LEARN all about our local ghost stories! WHAT spirits are still lurking around Huntsville?

CHILLS for all when you attend our mock funeral with a special mysterious visitor. WHO is in that coffin, and HOW did he die?
