Madison Animal Rescue Foundation Info
If you are looking to adopt a dog or a cat, check out the Madison Animal Rescue Foundation (Madison A.R.F.)

The Madison Animal Rescue Foundation is a non-profit foundation that will help build and operate a new rescue-friendly animal shelter for the city of Madison, Alabama. At this time, Madison A.R.F. does not have a shelter of its own and all of the animals rescued are placed with fosters until adopted to their forever homes. They are currently in desperate need of new foster homes for the animals, volunteers, and donations of all kinds, including crates and dog and cat food.

To learn more about Madison A.R.F. and view all adoptable animals visit their website: http://madisonarf.org or contact Miki Bennett, Founder/Director, Madison A.R.F. 256-658-8607.

Adoption Fees

Madison A.R.F. asks for a $150 donation when you adopt from us. This is not the price of the pet, but a donation to help cover vet expenses. Even at the deeply discounted rates that vets give, veterinary care is expensive. Here is a breakdown of what is included in the $150 adoption fee and what you can expect to pay for the same services at a Madison area vet yourself.

Health and Wellness exam.......$45
Rabies vaccine (1 yr)........$16
DHP-PC (dogs)........$25
FVRCP (cats)......$16
Bordetella.......$13
Heartworm test (dogs)......$36
Fecal/dewormer......$23
Spay or Neuter........$170-$250

You can see how you can easily spend $400 in addition to the price of the dog or cat were you to purchase from a breeder. Included are all of these things with the adoption of an animal, plus the animal is also current on heartworm medication and flea treatment.

As M.A.R.F. does not have a shelter of its own (yet) please email adopt@madisonarf.org to inquire about an animal.

To make a tax-deductible donation, please make checks and money orders payable to Madison ARF and mail to Madison ARF, PO Box 2486, Madison, AL 35758.
