Precious was turned in to Friends of Ferals by a nice man who found her as a stray in the Hampton Cove area. She had been hanging around his house several days and he felt sorry for her because it was very cold and it was pouring rain. She was very thin, dirty and looked as though someone had given her a haircut with hedge clippers. He had taken her to the emergency vet hospital the night before and was told that she healthy, five months old and not spayed.
After Friends of Ferals got her cleaned and settled, it became apparent that something was terribly wrong. After many trips to the vet and many tries, it was decided that she has Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS. The only treatment that is working for her is to feed Hill's ID cat food only. It is available dry and canned, but right now she will only eat the dry. She also has to have a 5mg prednisone tablet each and every day.
