Global Positioning Systems Help Pilots
A little 4-wheeler is used to tow the gliders into position on the airfield.
Soaring pilots use sensitive instruments including global positioning systems (GPS) to efficiently climb in thermals and navigate around the day’s course. The GPS data is recorded and can be replayed on a computer after the flight.
