The Bloomin’ Festival is held at St. Bernard’s Abbey and Prep School in Cullman, Alabama every April. It is a two-day arts and crafts fair and the largest annual fundraiser for the school. Artisans are carefully chosen to offer a wide variety of unique and high quality items. Over 140 booths are filled with artists demonstrating and exhibiting their work.
St. Bernard’s is operated by Benedictine monks. It is a private co-educational boarding school for grades 9-12. Tents and booths are set up surrounded by tall, mature trees; beautiful cut stone multi-story buildings and rolling fields. There’s a small lake and even barn with livestock plus the famous Ave Maria Grotto with its amazing miniature buildings and beautiful landscape designs. There is a variety of food. The monks sell their own “Monk Bread” which tends to disappear fast.
The Festival has been recognized by the Southeast Tourism society as a Top Twenty Event in the Southeastern U.S.
