South Pittsburg, TN - Since 1896 the Lodge family and employees have poured molten iron into sand molds to make cast iron cookware that become family heirlooms. On April 28 and 29, 2007 from 10:30 AM until 4:00 PM Lodge Manufacturing Company opens its state of the art foundry for tours of the plant during the National Cornbread Festival. The free tours begin with a brief orientation film at the Lodge Employee Center at the corner of Railroad Avenue and Sixth Street, only two blocks from the Carnival Gate at the Festival.
