The tours begins at the Old First National Bank Building (City Hall) at the intersection of Elm Avenue and Third Street, just one block west of the clock on Cedar Avenue. Stops on the tour include Major George Downing home (1877), Joseph Lodge home (1877), Old English Company Headquarters for guests (1877), Christ Church Episcopal (1883) and Chapel on the Hill (1888). The final stop on the tour is the Lodge Manufacturing Company’s foundry. There one may leave the tour to visit Lodge’s state of the art foundry which is open for tours only during the Festival. One may join a later tour for the return ride to the start of the historic tour.
Historic tour tickets are $5.00 per person payable in advance either by mail or at the kiosk on the Festival grounds. Due to limited seating, each ticket is for a specific time. Tours start on the hour from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday, April 28 and from 10 AM to 3 PM on Sunday, April 29. (South Pittsburg is in the Central Time zone.)
