Lions Club Antique Show and Sale

Lions Club Antique Show and Sale

This first weekend of November is all about shopping in the Shoals. The annual Lions Club Antique Show and Sale takes place November 4th, 5th & 6th. The show attracts dealers from across the US. This year organizers say there are 24 vendors who will display glassware, china, art, furniture, nostalgia, silver, linens, jewelry and much more! I went to the show in 2003 and was the most thrilled with a dealer who brought primarily antiques imported from France. I hope she's in attendance again this year. There were also some truly magnificent pieces of antique art available at the 2003 show.

All proceeds from this fundraiser are used to support the Lions Club charity projects including Camp Seale Harris Diabetes Children's Camp, Salvation Army Projects, the East West Baseball Game and of course the project they are most famous for, glasses for the underprivileged. The show is open from 10am to 6pm on Friday and Saturday. The hours are 12:30pm to 5pm on Sunday. The show takes place at the Florence-Lauderdale Coliseum at 702 Veterans Drive, Florence. Visitors can find information about the other many antique dealers in the Shoals area on the Antique Dealers Association web site.
