Spotlight on The Shoals - August 2005

Fashion enthusiast in North Alabama will be interested to know about a couple of celebrated designers who now call the Shoals home. Award winning designer Billy Reid has designed for such labels as Reebok, Bloomingdale's, Greg Norman, Fruit of the Loom and Neiman Marcus. Top specialty stores such as Fred Segal, Barneys New York, and Forty Five Ten carried his William Reid line. After the Sept. 11^thtragedy threw him a curve ball he regrouped and choose to open his own men's wear stores to carry his new line. He has stores in Dallas, Houston, and in the historic Picket Place on North Seminary Street in downtown Florence. Reid along with his wife and 3 children call Florence home.
