What's On at the Ritz Theatre

The Ritz Theatre

Director Terry Pace will offer 2 productions of Ray Bradbury scripts at the Ritz Theatre in October. "Something Wicked This Way Comes" will be presented on October 6, 7, 8, 13 and 14 and the curtain time is 8:05 pm for all performances. As a bonus David J. Skal, author of "The Monster Show", and "Hollywood Gothic" will offer a pre-show program on "Something Wicked This Way Comes" at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8. Terry Pace will present special programs beginning at 7pm prior to the other productions. The plot centers on a small town enticed by the evil promise of a wicked carnival proprietor. Wishes are granted, but they are twisted in ways known only to the fiendish Mr. Dark.

The second offering from Director Terry Pace is another Ray Bradbury work, "LEVIATHAN 99". This science-fiction adventure retells the story of Herman Melville's MOBY-DICK in a futuristic outer-space setting, as a vengeful starship captain chases the comet that destroyed his eyesight. Show Dates are October 9, 15 and 16 and the curtain times are Sunday, Oct. 9 - 2:05 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15 - 8:05 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 16 - 2:05 p.m.

Tickets for both shows are $10 for adults and $6 for students. The Ritz Theatre is located at 103 West Third Street, Sheffield, AL. Details for both shows, call 383-0533, 383-1987 or 366-4512.
