Dog of the Week: Ruby

Introducing Ruby...

Ruby Is Looking for a Home...

The Greyhound Group of Alabama is featuring "Ruby" as their Dog of the Week. Ruby is a 3 year old, red fawn retired racing Greyhound. For a greyhound, she's a little on the small side. Even though Ruby is a little bit shy until she gets to know you, she loves spending time with people.

Most of the time Ruby is pretty lazy, preferring to curl up on the couch and sleep. Ruby also loves ear skritches, a couple of quick turns around the yard a couple of times a day, and spending her evenings laying her head in your lap while you watch TV.

Ruby is very quiet and doesn’t bark much at all. Since she's a bit afraid of being by herself, she really needs to have another dog at home when her owner isn’t home so she won’t get scared. Ruby's good with smaller dogs, too, and will even tolerate cats, although they are inferior to dogs, she thinks.

Don’t you have room in your heart for Ruby? She is truly a sweetheart and will love you deeply and unconditionally. If you are interested in meeting her, please call her foster mom, Lynn, at (256) 497-5915. She works with The Greyhound Group of Alabama and will be happy to tell you all about Ruby.
