Greyhound Group of Alabama...

This is Emily & she needs a home!

The Greyhound Group of Alabama is a new adoption group in the Huntsville area and is looking for interested people to volunteer to help with Meet & Greets as well as foster families. Our focus is to help educate people about these wonderful dogs and further adoptions of the retired racers. If you would like to learn more about Greyhounds, or would like to meet some up close and personal, email the group at forevergreyhounds@yahoo.com. "Why would anyone want to adopt one of those skinny, high energy dogs? They’ve lived in kennels all their lives and have done nothing but race. They’ve never been around people much. How could they possibly make a good pet?"

These are a few of the misconceptions people have about Greyhounds. In spite of the tremendous grassroots movement that began in the mid-1980s that brought the plight of the racing Greyhound to the public eye, the general public still doesn’t know a great deal about the breed. So take a walk with me now and let me tell you about these amazing creatures.
