Cajun/Zydeco Annual Shrimp Boil

Cajun/Zydeco Dance Classes
Held the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month 7:00-8:30 pm at the Benchwarmer Too (3000 University Drive) with dance practice on 2nd and 4th Wednesdays 7:00-8:30 pm. CD Dance at Benchwarmer Too 7-8:30pm, Free.

W.C. Handy Music Festival in Florence
Weeklong celebration of the musical heritage of Northwest Alabama sponsored by the Music Preservation Society. Since 1982 the Shoals region has hosted the festival that features more than 100 events throughout a three-county area. Concerts, music in clubs and restaurants, churches, theatrers, parks, art galleries, on the street corners, and just about any place they can find to put the music is where you'll find it. Mountain Music Festival in Fort Payne
Five city blocks of Fort Payne will be transformed into a festive atmosphere with stages for live music, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors and more. This event is sponsored by the City of Fort Payne and the Big Wills Arts Council. For more info, call 256-638-7653. Admission charge.

July 27
Sidewalk Arts Stroll
Free. 5-9 pm. Come to Huntsville’s downtown courthouse square and, continues to Meridian Arts – 305 Jefferson, for fun and entertainment on a week night as artists sell fine oil paintings, watercolors, ceramics, pottery, blown glass vases, stained glass, and jewelry. Classic Movies in the Park-- "Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"
All movies are free and shown at sundown on the west wall of the Huntsville Museum of Art, 300 Church St. Bring your own blankets and picnic baskets.

Ars Nova announces auditions for its Ron Harris acting class on July 29th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Ars Nova School of the Arts. This six week class is $150 and culminates with public performances of the children's musical "Really Rosie" in Huntsville, Athens, and Guntersville, as well as mutiple school performances scheduled from October 2006 through March 2007. There are 12 spots for children ages 5 to 14. Please bring a song to sing, be prepared to read, and wear comfortable clothing for movement! More information at 256-883-1105 or www.arsnovahsv.com.
