This family-friendly exhibition teaches the basics for understanding the elements of art through a rotating selection of sculpture and other three-dimensional from the Museum’s permanent collection. Antebellum Trail Driving Tour (Athens)
Free admission. Athens-Limestone County Historic Area—Self-guided using a brochure or a CD ($5 for the CD). Tour area rich in late 19th- and early 20th-century architecture, including 24 antebellum homes, three antebellum churches, an antebellum college, two working cotton plantations, an old post office and a stagecoach inn and tavern. Spring Park Fountain Show (Tuscumbia)
Free. Tuscumbia Spring Park Fountain & Water Show at Spring Park--Spectacular 40-minute show with a magnificent display of water shooting from jets as high as 150 feet into the air, choreographed to lights and music. Musicians perform with seasonal holiday shows, including Memorial Day, 4th of July and Christmas. Dinosaur Uproar
Admission charged. Mon.-Sat., 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun., 1-5 p.m. at Huntsville Botanical Garden. This unique display features real-life settings for these giants, complete with numerous plants from ancient times. A 30-foot Edmontosaur and a 30-foot Parasaurolophus are featured in the collection. An 8-foot Africanus primitive crocodile, a 20-foot Allosaurs and several 8-inch cockroaches will also be highlighted. Real petrified wood specimens will allow visitors to touch the past. First Fridays in Florence
5pm -8pm at Downtown Florence hosts an art fair the first Friday of every month. Artists sell and demonstrate their work on the street. There is a variety of live music and entertainment. Downtown stores including unique gift shops and art galleries stay open late for shoppers. Come enjoy a family-friendly environment like no other in the area.
