Fishing Rodeo
Free. 8:30 am-Noon at Sharon Johnston Park in New Market. Bring your own rod & reel or pole. Check-in a half-hour prior to your fishing time. Hooks, corks & bait are provided. No boats or artificial lures are allowed. Rules will be posted. Ages 5-10, 8:30-10 am, ages 11-15, 10:30-Noon. For young people 6-15 years old, registration forms online. Packhorse Librarian Day
Admission charged. 10 am-4 pm at Burritt on the Mountain, 3101 Burritt Drive. Take a step back in time & join us for the celebration of the men & women who helped bring literacy to the Appalachian region on the back of a pack horse. Hear about how it took a little time for the mountain people to welcome the book-toting strangers on horseback. Each child will receive a free book to take home with them. Hands-On Trucks
Admission charged. 10 am-4 pm at Sci-Quest, 102-D Wynn Drive. More than a dozen different trucks will be on display. Operators of the trucks will be available to discuss how the trucks work & provide information about their jobs. For more information, call (256) ) 837-0606.

Spring Walking Tour
Free. Knowledgeable guides will point out architectural features as well as interesting facts about the districts. Refreshments will be served. Historic buildings to be toured: Weeden House, Shepherd's Cottage on Holmes Avenue, Harrison Brother's Hardware & several other downtown buildings. Sponsored by the Historic Huntsville Foundation.
Bruce Walker will guide the Old Town Tour from 122 Walker Avenue at 10 AM.
Jerry Barclay & Barbara Scott will guide the Twickenham tour starting from the Weeden House at Noon.
Jan Williams will guide the Five Points tour beginning from the corner of Wells & Maple Hill drive at 2 PM.
