Needing to update an almost 20-year-old home, the Rutledge family considered moving. Situated on the beautiful Hampton Cove golf course, they loved the view of the fairway and layout of the house. Instead, they decided to remodel their entire house, which took about 100 days. They added hardwood floors, architectural accents, and completely redesigned and remodeled the master bathroom and kitchen.

The Rutledges chose stainless steel appliances to create an updated feel. They include: a Kitchen Aid built-in refrigerator, Sharp Insight Pro Range, which combines a glass ceramic cook top, a convection and conventional oven, and the world's first Microwave Drawer, Thermador ventilation hood, an additional Sharp Microwave Drawer is located in the island, and a Kitchen Aid dishwasher.

The kitchen is a favorite spot to do homework, socialize, and watch the 26-inch LCD television. Special features include two microwaves, one kid-friendly microwave in the center of the island, and another above the oven. The island’s granite countertop in Green Bamboo is truly the focal point of the room. It is flanked by a beautiful glass backsplash and Honed Black Granite countertops, which hold a farmhouse sink big enough for all the dishes from any party.

The kitchen is accented with glass chickens that are displayed in the black hutch and throughout the room. When Jill was eight years old, her Grandmother Eastin gave them to her as a gift. From then on, other friends began adding to the collection. The Rutledges’ love their new kitchen and pleasant memories of seeing the hundred day progression!
