61. December 19, 2010: Boar's Head & Yule Log Festival

4:30 & 6:00 pm at First United Methodist Church-120 Green Street. This traditional festival-celebrating the triumph of good over evil-is probably the oldest pageant-dating from the 1300's. It is a processional with very colorful costumes & lots of singing with audience participation. For more information, call (256) 539-5738.

62. December 19, 2010: Winterlude 2010 – A Christmas Tapestry

Free so arrive early to get a seat. Concert at 6:15 pm at Whitesburg Baptist Church, 6806 Whitesburg Drive, Huntsville. This is arrangements of your Christmas favorites plus a couple of surprises. The recently purchased Yamaha C7 Grand Piano makes its debut alongside three other grand pianos.

63. December 24, 2010: Skate With Santa

Admission charged. Skate with Santa and maybe get in some last-minute Christmas wishes at Benton H. Wilcoxon Municipal Ice Complex, 3185 Leeman Ferry Road, Huntsville. Enjoy our holiday-themed skating session and then warm up with a free cup of hot cocoa per customer. Christmas Eve, 12/24/10 from 11am-5pm: Public Skating. Santa will be skating from 12-2 pm. Admission: $7.00 Skate Rental: $2.25. Family (3 or more) $7.00 (includes skates!)

64. December 25, 2010: Christmas Skate

Christmas Day Skate from 4pm-8pm and then warm up with a free cup of hot cocoa per customer. Admission: $7.00 Skate Rental: $2.25; Family (3 or more): $7.00 (includes skates)

65. December 31, 2010: Terrame’s New Year’s Eve Midnight Run

Jaycee's Building, John Hunt Park Huntsville. The party will begin at 10 p.m. on December 31st ending at 2 a.m. on January 1st. A 1-mile fun run/walk will begin at 10:30 p.m. A nationally certified 5K run begins at 11:30 p.m. with runners trying to finish before the fireworks begin at midnight. The fireworks will be the largest display in Huntsville since the City’s Bicentennial celebration. The event will help build the natural playground at Hays Nature Preserve and a 5-acre sunflower field for everyone, including the wildlife on the Preserve, to enjoy. Register online. 66. December 31, 2010: New Year's Eve Big Band Dance

$75 per person. Reservations are required. Social Time - 6:30 Pm, Dinner - 7pm, Music & Dancing - 8:30pm to 12:01am at VBC East Hall, 700 Monroe Street Huntsville. This is a formal affair, tux or suit for the men, formal or party dress for the ladies. For more info, call 1-877-212-6555.
