2011 Spirit of Christmas Past Tour

One of the City of Huntsville's oldest and most beautiful traditions is the "Spirit of Christmas Past" Homes Tour and Luminaries. It is presented by the Twickenham Historic Preservation District Association and this year's sponsor, Bentley Cadillac, SAAB.

It will be held Saturday, December 10th from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Franklin Street. An evening of nostalgia, tradition decorations, luminaries, caroling, chimes, music, live entertainment and the tour of five beautiful decorated homes, dating from as early as the 1800s- to the 1920s era.

The Weeden House Museum, home of famous artist, Maria Howard Weeden, the First Methodist Church and the Helion Masonic Lodge No 1, all built prior to the Civil War will also be open for the festive evening.

It is truly one of Huntsville's most beautiful and historical events. Proceeds will be utilized for the continued preservation and restoration of the Weeden House Museum and projects within the district.

Tickets will be available at Marie's Hallmark, 716 Pratt Avenue; Railroad Station Antiques, 314 Jefferson Street; Hartlex Antiques & Interiors, 181 Hughes Road, Madison; First United Methodis Bookstore and the Weeden House Museum, 300 Gates Avenue. The evening of the tour, tickets will be available at each home. tickets are $15.00 for adults, $5.0 for children 12 and under.
