This newly expanded home combines a traditional exterior with a "transitional" interior. The original 4000 sq ft home was designed and built by local legend Chester West, and the challenge of seamlessly combining new and old was accomplished by architect Jim Norton, and added 5300 square feet. The two story foyer opens to the dining room and great room, and provides a view of the far ridge of Monte Sano through the sun porch. An extensive Swarovksi collection is displayed in the great room. A vestibule featuring a 3-story wrought iron circular stairway accessed the newly added great hall featuring display cabinets, coffered ceilings with crystal chandeliers, and an Italian marble floor specifically designed to reflect the coffered ceilings. Continuing through the great hall is the "gentleman's club" natural cherry library featuring shelves filled with rows and rows of books, a full bar, display curios of antiquities, and houses its own resident playboy bunny. Outside, the designer pool takes advantage of the mountain view with an infinity edge, in-pool seating areas, and features a 4 dolphin fountain.
