101 Sun Swept Circle (Big Cove) Garden

101 Sun Swept Circle (Big Cove)

The tour continues with:

The Gardens at
101 Sun Swept Circle (Big Cove)
Garden of Eddie and Becky Ray

The garden at the Ray residence was started in 1991, when the Ray's began planting some favorite varieties of trees immediately after purchasing the property. After building their home, work on the garden resumed in 1993 and continues today. The front yard is traditional and suits the home, which is modeled after a style from the 1950s South. As you proceed to the rear of the home a pea gravel drive, lined with shade loving perennials and groundcovers, takes you to the pony barn. Proceed from there to the free form pool with stone coping and a water feature built with large Asian jars. And yes, that is a "diving rock"! The plantings in this area set a more exotic mood, and trees on the west side of the pool provide shade for afternoon swimming. As you leave the pool area and exit the rear garden on the opposite side of the house, you will pass under large Natchez crepe myrtles with lovely cinnamon bark.
