To continue the aged feel, the cabinetry in the perimeter around the island is painted with a brown glaze and rub-thru. Glass mullioned doors display collections of dishes and other favorite culinary finds. Architectural details on the island cabinetry are repeated on the painted pieces to give the design unity.
A pass-through with double sink underneath allows a cleanup area with a view to the sunroom beyond. Choices in appliances were a very important aspect of the overall plan. A large 48 refrigerator, double oven, microwave, warming drawer, and quiet dishwasher were all chosen with care and consideration to accommodate the needs of the Broomes busy family.
