Huntsville Pilgrimage Hosts Tour of Homes

The annual Historic Homes Tour highlights some of the most distinguished architectual styles in three of Huntsville's historic disticts, from antebellum to Victorian to early 20th century bungalow. Some of the homeowners in Twickenham, Old Town and Five Points historic districts will open their home for this year's tour on Saturday, May 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

This is a rare chance to get inside private homes to see some of the history of Huntsville and admire the past. Five houses, one church and two gardens are on this year's tour. Due to last minute changes, there will be no house shown in Old Town this year. The Weeden House Museum is also on the tour this year with elegant vintage wedding gowns on display.

Tickets are $20 the day of the tour and are available at all the homes; $17 advance purchase at Lawren's, Brooks & Collier, The Greenery, Harrison Brothers Hardware, Parisian, Railroad Station Antique Mall, Shavers Bookstore, Magnolia Marketplace in Madison, Fiffy's Antiques in Fayetteville, Basket Case in Guntersville, and Ann's Fine Gifts in Scottsboro. Box lunches are $7 and available between 11 and 2 pm at First Presbyterian Church. No reservation is required for lunch. (see next page for photos of this year's homes)
