Madison Station Historic and Preservation Society

The Madison Station Historic and Preservation Society will be holding its bi- annual Christmas Home Tour on Dec. 4 from 2 to 6. Five homes (all located in the downtown area of Madison) will be open for viewing. Three of the homes have never been on tour before.

Madison United Methodist Church will feature the handbell choir performing at the top of very hour and the children's choirs rehearsing at the bottom of each hour.

Each of the homes on the tour will be spectacularly decorated for the Christmas season including one with Santa's workshop set up for his elves down from the North Pole to assemble toys.

There will be a display of 18th century lace, christening bonnets, and gowns.

Each home will have different musical entertainment featuring over 40 carolers (30 from Madison Elementary School), an ensemble from the North Alabama Flute Association, Huntsville Harmony Chorus, another group playing the cello, violin, and oboe, and a bagpipe player.

Horse drawn carriage rides are included in the $10 admission price. Tickets are available the day of the tour at each home and in advance at Main Street Café and Whitworth Realty. For more info call Jeanne Steadman 461-8938.
