Today our lives are getting busier and busier; everyone is stressed to the max. When I heard about The Yurt Garden, described as a "spiritual retreat center," I was ready to check it out.

Joey Mustain, 27, from Florence won the title of Alabama Idol. As the winner of Alabama Idol, Mustain wins a guaranteed audition before the producers of American Idol at the Memphis auditions on September 3, 2006.

Local firefighters were invited to a sneak preview of "The Aftermath: Images from Ground Zero by Joel Meyerowitz." The exhibition features the emotionally compelling images that stunned a nation following the terrorist attacks of 9-11.
08/16/06 Miniature Log House Added to Madison Co. Nature Trail
The Madison County Nature Trail, located in southeast Huntsville atop Green Mountain, was built in 1975. Through the years several volunteers have contributed their time and talents to improve the area for the many visitors to enjoy.

The Second Annual Pet Photo Fundraising Contest for the Greater Huntsville Humane Society was a great success again this year with the prize being the cover of the 2007 calendar.

The local chapter Experimental Aircraft Association meets monthly at Moontown Airport in Brownsboro (off Highway 72 East).

"Tigers For Tomorrow" in Attalla in Dekalb County, Alabama is an exotic animal rescue. Though "Tigers for Tomorrow" specialize in rescuing tigers, they believe all animals are precious and take them in.

A summer arts festival in Huntsville was from downtown courthouse square to Meridian Arts - 305 Jefferson and included fun and entertainment on a Thursday night in July as over 80 artists sold fine oil paintings, watercolors, ceramics, pottery, blown glass vases, stained glass, and jewelry.
