06/02/06 The Betty Wilson Murder...
Former Huntsville resident, Betty Wilson, was recently married while in prison. In case you weren't around Huntsville in 1992, here's the story of the notorious trial of the wife of a popular Huntsville doctor. Dr. Jack Wilson, a prominent Huntsville doctor, was found brutally murdered, apparently with a baseball bat that was found lying nearby.

On June 1, 1994, after spending two years behind bars, James White gave the following sworn statement about his involvement in the murder of Dr. Wilson. He later took the Fifth Amendment when questioned about it in court.

The Bob Jones High School Culinary Arts Team took top honors at the first round of Teen Cuisine. There were 8 schools to compete. Four schools in the morning and four in the afternoon.

On June 2, 2006, the Huntsville Botanical Garden opens its new Nature Center and 2-acre Children's Garden. Included in the new facility is the nation's largest seasonal butterfly house and a 'Classroom Under the Sky' amphitheatre with seating for up to 300.

What fun the audience had at the Saturday night concert of The Classical Mystery Tour pops concert with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra. This gave us baby-boomers a second chance to see the Fab Four in concert (I missed the real thing back in the 60's, did you, too?) It was almost like seeing Paul, John, George & Ringo in person. I've got some photos to share with you.

Panoply Arts Festival is a community event held annually in Huntsville in Big Spring Park the last full weekend of April. The word panoply means "wonderful array" and it is an array of activities, arts and entertainment that has grown since it was started in 1982 by The Junior League.
