Spring Camps: March 25-29, 2013
BURRITT RANGERS: Burritt on the Mountain is excited to invite children from kindergarten through 5th grade to join us during spring break for our Nature Rangers Camp, From Palaces to Pirates! This camp is inspired by Whimsical Woods, our special feature in 2013. Each theme comes from one of our Whimsical Wood’s stories. Children will enjoy exploring, hiking trails, as well as playing active, outdoor games and creating fun, unique crafts based on each camp’s theme. Each day, campers will be supervised and led by Burritt’s trained, CPR-certified staff. The camp’s curriculum ensures a combination of fun, learning, and memories!
The camp days run from 9:00 to 2:00. Students should bring their own sack lunch, but Burritt will provide a snack each day. You may also choose to register for our extended day option ($12/day) with drop-off available as early as 7:45 a.m. and pick-up as late as 5:30 p.m. To better fit busy families’ schedules, we offer three attendance options. Campers may join us for all five days (26th-30th) for a cost of $155 for Burritt members and $165 for non-members. Can’t make it for the whole week? Come to camp on Monday the 25th and Tuesday the 26th ($62 members, $66 non-members). The other option includes: Wednesday the 27th, Thursday the 28th, and Friday the 29th ($93 members, $99 non-members). Registrations and payment must be received by Friday March 15th. Contact Kelly Fisk at firstname.lastname@example.org or 256-512-0145 for assistance.

"Geology in My BIG Backyard"
During the introductory activity, students will learn that geology is a lot like detective work. Geologists infer the sequence and timing of events by collecting evidence and making observations, just like a detective. We will combine indoor and outside activities to expose students to their new-found geologic interpretation skills. This camp theme provides a strong educational program by getting students familiar with the idea that geology is something tangible and that it affects the world around them. They should be inspired to ask questions about how geologic processes shaped the world around them and make observations to answer those questions.
