NOTE : Guests who wish to visit The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt during the Frist Fridays scheduled from June through September must reserve advance tickets in order to enter the exhibition. Quest tickets are issued for a specific date and time at a cost of $10 for members and $17 for non-members. Children 18 and under will be admitted free, but must have reserved tickets to enter the exhibition. Tickets for Quest include access to Frist Fridays activities. Kids Club offers exciting opportunities for children to discover, explore, and create art. Free membership includes a Kids Club card, art classes, and additional rewards for participation. This special Kids Club features a storytime session related to The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt . Inspired by the story, kids can create one-of-a-kind cartouche images on papyrus.

On Thursday evenings, the Frist Center presents free music in the Grand Lobby. Cash bars and bistro seating are offered, so visitors can relax, enjoy a variety of beverages and listen to some of Nashville's finest faculty and student musicians. Saturdays in August, children can watch the film, Ancient Egypt , which coincides with the exhibition, The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt . After the movie, kids can participate in a fun "afterlife" activity. Popcorn and juice will be provided.

Please note: This is a two-part program; all registrants must have completed Part One (June 3) to participate in Part Two. No new registration for Part Two.

Part Two of Mummy Making! includes a docent-guided tour of The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt for registered youth participants.

Thursday, August 10 Egyptian Revival-style Architecture Tour

Downtown Presbyterian Church Sanctuary, 154 Fifth Avenue North

Jim Hoobler, Curator of Art and Architecture at the Tennessee State Museum, will lead a guided tour of the Egyptian Revival-style architecture featured in the Downtown Presbyterian Church.

Take a late-night, docent-guided flashlight tour through The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt exhibition. Following the tour, patrons will meet at the Turner Courtyard tent to view the 1932 original movie, The Mummy, with Boris Karloff. Karloff stars as the condemned and mummified Egyptian prince Im-Ho-Tep accidentally brought back to life. Stunning cinematography and gripping performances make this film a classic. Free popcorn and a cash bar will be available.
