THINGS I LEARNED THIS WEEK:
- Art Garfunkel is coming to Huntsville this Saturday. Mention About.com and get 10% off your concert tickets when calling the Huntsville Symphony office at (256) 539-4818.
- Ladies First Boutique on Whitesburg Drive is having their grand opening Thursday, April 14 from 5-8 pm. This is a new upscale women's clothing store that is not too funky or pricey for the Huntsville market. They emphasize personal service and have a cozy corner for a cup of tea and chat with a friend, a free paraffin dip and other VIP treatment.
- Volunteers of America North Alabama will be hosting the 2nd Annual 'I Remember Mama' celebration on Saturday, May 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Senior Center on Drake Avenue in Huntsville. If you or someone you know is a MOM who will be alone this Mother's Day weekend, call 830-1146 to make a reservation for a free dinner, corsages, goodie bags and door prizes.
- Panoply is looking for Volunteers for the April 22-24 event.
- The Presbytery of North Alabama is planning a mission trip to South Africa this summer and would appreciate any donations of Delta Frequent Flier Miles. For more information, contact Frank Broyles at (256) 881-4811.
