When the Smith's decided to build in the Village of Providence, they wanted to embrace the turn of the century feel for the interior of the house, as well as the exterior. The ultimate goal was to create a brand new hose with old fashioned character. The kitchen was planned as a gathering place for family and friends.

The cherry cabinets, which feature raised panels with large rope crown, were designed by the owner and built by a local cabinet maker. The appliances were fitted with raised panel fronts to match the cabinets and complete the furniture feel. The granite on the countertops provides beauty and durability with colors ranging from warm gold tones to chocolate browns. The cook top area features a corbelled mantel that arches over the gas cook top. An extra large center island is the hub of the kitchen.

A golden glazed tile backsplash has oil rubbed bronze accents with coordinate with the cabinet hardware and faucets. The butler's pantry between the kitchen and dining room is an extension of the kitchen providing additional storage.

The breakfast room and family room open to the kitchen and both rooms have heavily wood carved mantled fireplaces. A wall of French doors open to a covered porch, brick paved patio and English style garden. The kitchen and breakfast room are adorned with old gold crystal chandeliers.

This open floor plan allows the Smith's to entertain in a charming and comfortable environment.
