1115 Ward Avenue - 1929 Livingstone - Guynes Home

From Jean Brandau, About.com

1115 Ward Avenue - 1929 Livingstone - Guynes Home

Mr. and Mrs. Winford Livingston built this charming 1929 bungalow located in Five Points Historic District on part of a tract previously owned by Dr. William Mayo as a potential site for The Mayo Clinic. The one and one-half story house, built in the California Craftsman style, features a prominent front porch, long gable roof and center front dormer.

The present owners, June and Buddy Guynes, purchased the property from Mrs. Don Shotts in 2004. Basic renovations, including the sunroom and breakfast room additions, were done by the Shotts. The Guynes have restored the porte cochére to the period and renovated the original 1929 garage to enhance its Arts and Crafts heritage.
