A Shaker family from Ohio purchased this Twickenham Historic District property in 1888 but sold it to Elizabeth Dunn who completed construction of the home in 1889. General John (Blackjack) Pershing was a guest during the Fall and Winter of 1898-1899 while the Buffalo Soldiers encamped in Huntsville. Thomas T. Terry purchased it in 1905, modernized the interior and added a two-story sleeping porch at the rear. His son, Ira T. Terry, inherited the home and in 1947 enlarged the original plan and replaced the Victorian architectural features with the Colonial Revival style.
Josie and Bill OMeara bought the residence from the Terry family in 1983 and replaced the sleeping porch with a great room. Present owners Jean and Steve Templeton acquired the property in 2004 and have updated the home to its present beauty.
