Mitchell Brown is the voice of Elvis locally. The New Hope native has always loved the music of Elvis and soon realized that he could imitate the same sound as Presley. In high school, he started performing at school events. The year he graduated from New Hope High School, his aunt asked him to perform at her class reunion. After college, some of his friends decided to get a band together.
In 1997, some members of Mitchell's church, The Twickenham Church of Christ, put together a show for the public. The event was such a success that the group has been performing together in the Huntsville area ever since.
The Feb. 23, 2007 concert was dedicated to the National Arthritis Foundation in memory of Aunt Eunice and raised $32,300. This was Mitchell's first concert in two years and he presently has no plans for another one. As one fan wrote: "...I've seen at least a dozen Elvis impersonators, and Mitchell Brown is the closet thing to the real Elvis I have ever seen." Me, too.
