Janeen and Raj Patel searched for over two years before they found the perfect house. As soon as the Patels walked in the front door, they knew that this was the house for their family. The views of the city from the many rooms in the house were an added bonus. The house was move-in ready. Only minor changes need to be done to make it feel more like home. As the years went by, the kitchen needed remodeling. While he hardwood floors remained, everything else changed. The Patels chose custom cabinetry with inset doors in a soft stained cherry. They added granite tops and a custom designed backsplash in tile and marble to complement the workspace. In their kitchen, the Patels have a lot of favorites. Some of their favorites include the black farm sink, the double drawer dishwashers, and the transom windows above two doorways. The Patels wanted to bring in a touch of New Orleans where Janeen was born and raised and where she and Raj met. To achieve this look, they used designs on transoms and glass cabinet doors and the black iron light fixture in the breakfast nook. The Patel family loves their new kitchen. It is a wonderful place to do homework, gather for parties or to just have coffee with a friend.
