Photos and menus from some of Huntsville's most popular restaurants.
1. 801 Franklin
"Gourmet dining in a casual atmosphere with lots of Southern hospitality" is the best way to describe 801 Franklin. This fine dinig restaurant in Huntsville prides itself on its Award Winning Wine List. Located in the downtown area on Franklin, hence its name, reservations are recommended.
2. Blue Willow Bistro
The Blue Willow Bistro on Willow Street in Scottsboro is home to the cutest tea room and a wonderful place for weddings, receptions and parties. Try their outdoor "secret garden" for an unusual setting for your next event. The owner has taken an eclectic assortment of tables and chairs and created a one-of-a-kind tented area for parties in her side yard.
3. Casa Blanca
There are several Casa Blanca locations in the Huntsville area. Casa Blanca specializes in Mexican Cuisine. The one I go to is located across from Grissom High School on Bailey Cove Road.
4. Cotton Row Restaurant
Cotton Row Restaurant is a American Bistro in downtown Huntsville, featuring meat and produce from local suppliers and catering to their customers' tastes and perferences.
5. Dolce
Dolce is a fine dining restaurant located in Bridge Street, right across from Monaco Pictures. The menu features the cuisine of northern Italy and emphasizes more classical Italian dishes such as "Four Cheese Ravioli," "Spaghetti and Meatballs," and "Lobster Ravioli."
6. Emma's Tea Room
In March 2006, Rebekah Klein, a retired English teacher, answered my prayers and opened Emma's Tea Room (named after her 7 year old daughter) at 401 Pratt Ave. in Huntsville. I could not be happier with this little gem of a business in the historic Five Points area of town.
7. Furniture Factory Bar & Grill
The Furniture Factory Bar & Grill opened in early October 2001. It is a unique eating place, with sturdy Mexican and wrought-iron furniture for sell. The Furniture Factory Bar & Grill got started when four friends got together, pooled their talents and opened this unusual restaurant. Donna Hays, Margaret Poole, Danny George, and Mickey Lanier are co-owners of the Furniture Factory Bar & Grill.
8. Grille 29
February 2007, Restaurant Partners, Inc. opened its second location of their popular Grille 29 restaurant in Huntsville, Alabama. The first Grille 29 is located in Tampa, Florida. This fine dining, non-smoking restaurant is a unique eating place for Huntsville. It features towering windows, an elevated bar area complete with a 400 gallon salt water fish tank, and a private banquet area and serves lunch and dinner seven days a week.
9. Ketchup
Ketchup is a 50's-style diner skyrocketed into the space age and it's now landed in Huntsville. Just stepping inside this hip restaurant brings a smile to your face and spring to your step. The menu is imaginative and playful, but seriously delicious. For fun, food and a festive time, this place is a winner.
10. The Lumpkin House
The Lumpkin House is a pleasant surprise in Albertville, Alabama. Delicious food in a beautiful setting is my ultimate idea of a perfect lunch. The prices at The Lumpkin House are unbelieveable. The Lumpkin House is located at 699 N. Carlisle St. in Albertville, Alabama. They are open Monday through Friday from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. Weekends are reserved for special events, whether a sit-down dinner inside or a romantic wedding on the lawn
