Eagle Watching in Alabama

Bird Watching or birding in Alabama is one of the best places to enjoy this new hobby. It’s called avitourism and it’s one of the fastest growing forms of outdoor recreation.  For those “amateurs” among us that means tourism for the purpose of bird watching.  I must say that I can certainly understand the attraction.  Perhaps it’s because of the 20 years I spent in Los Angeles with its limited wild life, but I’m absolutely fascinated by watching the critters that visit my bird feeders.  I find myself sitting at the kitchen window looking out at them long after I’ve finished my morning coffee.  Watching the birds flutter about has the same effect on me that a fish tank does.  It’s both calming and mesmerizing.
