Spotlight on The Shoals - December 2005

The Shoals is a wonderful place to find all the charm of a historical Southern Christmas. The Julian House circa 1819 tearoom is only open during the month of December. They provide holiday meals or teatime refreshments amid period holiday decorations, antiques and 19th century décor to groups by appointment only. I haven't ever been to The Julian House, but I called a few friends and heard great reviews. My friend Kathryn Rice said that the organizer, Mrs. Ninon Parker is a well-known local historian and tour guide. Lucy Ware said that the lunches were always very tasteful and elegant. Julian House is located at 104 North Dickson St. in Tuscumbia.
