Imp-Mi-Ah-Key Fountain Christmas Music Show...Parades...

Indian Carving by artist Brian Ruth, Spring Park, Tuscumbia

Another festive holiday event that takes place during the entire month of December is the Imp-Mi-Ah-Key Fountain Christmas Music Show at Spring Park in Tuscumbia. The Spring Park Fountain with it's 51 jets is choreographed to Christmas music and a laser light show. See it every Thursday through Sunday at 8 pm. Other attractions include a waterfall and the new 15 ft carving of an Indian by artist Brian Ruth. The carving is done in the trunk of a tree that was struck by lightening. Spring Park is located at the South end of Main Street in Tuscumbia.

It wouldn't be the holiday season without a Christmas Parade. Each city in the Shoals area hosts their own: The Muscle Shoals parade is December 1st at 7 pm on Avalon Avenue at the intersection of Gusmus Avenue and proceed east to Sheffield Avenue. Call Linda Young at (256) 386-9250 for more info. The Sheffield parade is December 2nd at 6:30 pm. Contact Linda Wright (256) 383-0250 for info. The Tuscumbia parade starts on Main Street December 6th at 6 pm and features Mr.& Mrs. Santa Claus. There will be a very special surprise at this year's parade in Tuscumbia--snow no matter what the weatherman forecasts. Contact James McCorkle at (256) 386-7200 for information. The last Christmas parade will be in Florence on December 9th at 7 pm. There will be music from five high school bands and the University of North Alabama Band. Contact Aubrey Wilson at (256) 764-2332 or (256) 764-2396 for information.
