How the Procedure Works

Huntsville Medical Spa #7
The Ionithermie treatment takes about one hour and can be done during your lunch hour. There's no need to shower after your treatment, so you're ready to go right back to work afterwards. First, I was asked to change into a soft terry spa wrap. Then the therapist measured me in five or six different areas of my body, carefully marking the areas for comparative measuring after the treatment.

I was then asked to lay down on the massage-type table and my body was brushed in the areas to be treated with a skin brush. This is the only relaxing and luxury treatment you'll receive. After all, I was here to get a workout and lose some inches. This isn't like a relaxing massage.

After the brushing, a Christmas-like pine-smelling mixture containing purifying algae, ivy and amino acids was applied to my skin in the areas being treated. These ingredients are said to increase circulation, break down fatty deposits and release trapped toxins.

I had decided to work on my stomach and thighs. Later, I learned that there are only a certain number of electrodes (six, I think) and that if I'd only chosen to work on my stomach, I could have had more electrodes working upper, lower and sides of the abdomen. I think if I do it again, I'll go with that option.
