Based on the record-breaking 1997 Academy Award-nominated hit of the same name, The Full Monty is the raucous and heartfelt story of six unemployed steelworkers who go to great lengths to make some case and help out a friend in trouble. When a local male strip show--whose dancers venture down to their G-strings--is a hit with the local women, the cash-strapped factory workers figure they can cash in big time if they go the full Monty. Four-time Tony Awards winning writer Terrence McNally adapted the screen hit for the stage and added his own unique brand of American comedy to the story. The winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie was 2002's most awarded new show on Broadway. Based on the 1967 Oscar-winning film of the same name, Thoroughly Modern Millie takes audiences back to the height of the Jazz Age, when "moderns"--including a flapper name Millie Dillmount--were bobbing their hair, raising their hemlines, entering the workforce, and rewriting the rules of love. This singing, dancing, romancing musical takes place in Manhattan, 1922, with all the jazz-age razzmatazz you want in a big, bright, brand-new Broadway blockbuster. It's the story of a Midwestern girl who arrives in New York determined to take the town by storm.
