06/16/04 Theatre Review: "ELEEMOSYNARY"
Sensitive and probing, "ELEEMOSYNARY" examines the subtle and often perilous relationship between three remarkable women; a young girl, her mother, and her grandmother. Onstage at The Renaissance Theatre June 18-27, 2004.

06/14/04 2004-2005 Broadway Theatre League Season
The new season for Broadway Theatre League promises to be uplifting and joyful--no more tears, tragedies or depressing themes. The 2004/2005 season includes some shows that have never been in Huntsville before.

06/10/04 Theatre Review: "Ragtime the Musical"
Independent Musical Productions presents "Ragtime", the epic musical by the award-winning composer/lyricist team of Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens. "Ragtime" paints a nostalgic and powerful portrait of life in turn of the century America. The show was nominated for 12 Tony Awards in 1998, and won for Best Actress, Original Score, Book, and Orchestration.

06/03/04 Theatre Review: "Murder in the Magnolias"
What happens when you parody characters and plots from almost every Southern play imaginable, and sprinkle them with the flavor of "Gone With The Wind"? You get the hilarious "Murder in the Magnolias" by Tim Kelly.

05/20/04 Review: Huntsville Ice Skating School Spring Show
The Huntsville Ice Skating School held their first annual Spring Show last week. The theme was "Let's Go To the Movies" and the ice was hot as the spotlight shined on the students as they strutted their stuff to favorite movie songs.

05/14/04 Theatre Review: "Lost in Yonkers"
Neil Simon is my all-time favorite playwright, so I am always ready, will and able to go to one of his shows. I was thrilled when I learned that Theatre Huntsville had this 1992 Pulitzer Prize-winning play on its 2003-04 season.

05/06/04 Theatre Review: "Cotton Patch Gospel"
II saw "The Cotton Patch Gospel" many years ago in Iowa. It's a lively, fun show that will get your toes tapping and your laughs coming nonstop. It was fun in the Midwest--it's twice as much fun in the South!

05/01/04 Theatre Review: "Les Miserables"
Besides being a great show to see and hear, "Les Miserables" is fascinating to watch as the actors died in slow motion, the turntable whirls characters and sets around the stage, other sets are whisked in before you eyes and all this is done without a hitch. This is a great show to see, whether it's your first time (like my husband) or you've seen it many times before, read the book and seen the movie.
