Amy Grant Lights Up Huntsville

Take off your shoes...dance in the aisle...jingle bells...sing along. Have fun! Doesn't sound like the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra, does it? When Amy Grant took the stage Saturday night at the Von Braun Center, her relaxed, easy-going ways and charm had the audience eating out of the palm of her hand. This pops concert was more like Big Spring Jam (indoors) than a stuffy classical event. Grant spent two and a half hours on stage, taking requests from the audience, singing a little bit gospel, a little bit Elvis, and a lot of her biggest hits. She even let one of the members of her band go overtime and sing "Sweet Home, Alabama" as a special treat for us in the audience.
